Ask me anything!

I know I did one of these previously, but I noticed I missed some questions sent into the survey and wanted to do another one toward the end of this year.

Also! I receive questions for posts sometimes, but it comes through email with an explanation of how long it took because they’re a lurker—hi, lurkers!—and find me intimidating (I’m off-putting, I know; I’m trying to be more understanding). Through this form, you can do that, too.~

I’m open to answering most questions, even if you think they may be too personal. Likewise, there are some topics I may not answer questions for/write about right now, but will save for the future.

Ready? Let’s go (I don’t really know what to put here) →

I’m using Typeform again this year, because I really love the flexibility of even its free features; I don’t feel as limited as I do with other free survey/form builders.

Also! Please take my year-end survey.

I have not done an AMA for a long time but seeing your post, it is inspiring me to do it again now.

What has been your biggest achievement in your personal life? What are your goals for the rest of the year? What kind of hobbies do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Hey Michelle! I didn’t get as many Qs as I’d hoped, so I’m just going to answer yours here. 🙂

What has been your biggest achievement in your personal life?
Escaping an abusive, toxic relationship—for good. It’s so hard, because toxic people know how to knock you down—or even how to manipulate you by apologizing and building you up just so they can knock you back down—to a point where you truly feel like you’re the crazy one (gas-lighting).

It’s their own undoing: a person can only take so much, and if it doesn’t kill you, it damages everything around you. When you come out of it, it’s so weird because everything unravels slowly and feels like reentering the world as an infant. You start to realize if they weren’t abusive/toxic, they wouldn’t have taken your rejection so violently—if you were truly the problem, as they claimed, they would have been chill about it, like, “Fine, okay, yeah—this is sad. I’m sad to lose you, but I understand some people in life are not meant to be in mine forever.”

Or, uh, something like that.

What are your goals for the rest of the year?
I neither make nor share my goals. 😉

I do make goals, but not goals-goals—and I seldom share any goals, because goals shared are less likely to happen (in my experience). Every time I try to control something in my life, I’m reminded I have no control; so I buckled up and let Jesus take the wheel. The goals I make now are in relation to love and God’s way for me—my calling, if you will. I don’t talk about it much because I don’t think there is any love in shoving my faith down the throat of someone else…and in my experience, actions speak louder than words.

What kind of hobbies do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
This is kinda hard to answer, because special interests.
